The 5 best Dust AI alternatives
Best Dust AI alternative if your team already works in ChatGPT
01ChatGPT agents
Shared agents built into ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu.
- Best for
- Companies on ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu that want shared agents in ChatGPT and Slack
- Strengths
- No new app for teams that already use ChatGPT. Agents run from ChatGPT, from Slack, on a schedule or through an API.
- Pricing
- ChatGPT Business is $20 per user a month billed yearly, or $25 monthly, with at least 2 seats. A Premium seat is $100 a month billed yearly. Agent runs draw on a shared allowance first, then credits, and OpenAI says a typical run uses 5 to 25. Enterprise pricing is through sales.
- Hosting and data
- OpenAI offers data residency to new Enterprise and Edu customers, but workspace agents are not on its list of in-scope features. We found no self-hosting.
- Where it works
- ChatGPT and Slack, where each agent gets a handle on the shared ChatGPT Agents app. Workspace agents are not in Microsoft Teams, where OpenAI offers a separate @ChatGPT bot. They have no email address and do not join calls.
- Compared with Dust
- Both are shared agent workspaces billed per seat. ChatGPT agents work in ChatGPT and Slack, while Dust also works in Microsoft Teams.
Best Dust AI alternative if your team works in Slack and already uses Claude
02Claude Tag
One shared Claude, in public beta, that anyone in a Slack channel can tag.
- Best for
- Slack teams on a Claude Team or Enterprise plan that want to hand channel threads to one shared Claude
- Strengths
- Anyone in the channel can tag it, without a Claude seat. Sessions can run on self-hosted runners in your own network, in beta.
- Pricing
- Claude Tag needs a Claude Team or Enterprise plan. Team seats start at $20 a month billed yearly, or $25 monthly. Channel work is billed by usage, and Team plans buy usage credits first.
- Hosting and data
- Anthropic says data is stored in the US. Sessions can run on self-hosted runners, in beta and off by default, but admin-added connectors do not work there and Claude itself stays hosted by Anthropic.
- Where it works
- Slack channels, group messages and direct messages. Microsoft Teams is listed as coming soon. It has no email address of its own and does not join calls.
- Compared with Dust
- Claude Tag is one shared Claude in Slack threads, in public beta. Dust lets teams build many agents and reach them in Slack and Microsoft Teams.
Best Dust AI alternative for a full AI team
03d5sOur product
AI coworkers, one per role, in a workspace your team shares.
- Best for
- Teams that want one agent per role, each with its own Slack account and email, that asks before it sends or changes anything
- Strengths
- Models from several providers, set per agent. A daily budget for each agent. Each conversation starts in Ask, so agents ask before they send or change anything.
- Pricing
- d5s Pro is $25 a month and Team is $35 per seat a month.
- Hosting and data
- Workspace data is hosted in the EU. Enterprise customers can also run d5s in their own cloud or on-premise.
- Where it works
- Slack and Microsoft Teams, plus the web and desktop app. Each agent can have its own Slack account and email address. Agents join Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom calls and take notes.
- Compared with Dust
- Dust agents answer through one shared @Dust app. Each d5s agent has its own Slack account and email address, and d5s agents join calls, where Dust reads transcripts from other apps.
Best Dust AI alternative for building your own agents from app events
04Gumloop
A platform where anyone on the team builds AI agents.
- Best for
- Teams that want to build their own agents and start them from app events or webhooks
- Strengths

- Pricing
- Gumloop Pro starts at $37 a month for 20,000 credits, with unlimited seats. An 8% orchestration fee applies, or 16% with your own model keys. Enterprise pricing is custom.
- Hosting and data
- Gumloop's privacy policy says it processes data in the US. On Enterprise you can deploy it in your own cloud, in the region you choose. We found no on-premise option.
- Where it works
- Slack through a shared @Gumloop bot, or a custom Slack app for each agent. Microsoft Teams in public channels. Each agent has an inbox for mail from Gumloop users. Agents do not join calls; they read transcripts through connectors.
- Compared with Dust
- Gumloop is for building agents that start from app events or webhooks. It bills credits with unlimited seats, where Dust bills each seat.
